We thought it would be helpful to explore essential oils that help us transition from one season to the next. Given the online world is global and you’re transitioning between either summer and autumn OR winter and spring depending on where you live, we’ll cover both in today’s post!
Quick read: 5 Key Points
1. Layer clothing to help you keep your body temperature comfortable in changing temperatures
2. When temperatures drop, choose warming, cheering, air-cleansing essential oils like lemon, eucalyptus, Young Living Purification™ and Christmas Spirit™
3. Freshen fingers with lemon or Young Living Thieves® Waterless Hand Purifier, always keep oils away from your eyes, and it’s wise to avoid touching your eyes and face at all times
4. Young Living Breathe Again™ roll-on is a very handy all-rounder as weather warms up and you head into the garden
5. Oil blends like Present Time, Acceptance and Joy are beautiful all year around for keeping up spirits when things are beyond your control
SUMMER to AUTUMN
It’s easy to come down with things when the weather changes from warm to cool. It can be highly unpredictable and we find ourselves dressing snugly for work while there’s still a nip in the air early in the morning, only to find ourselves perspiring a couple of hours later as the day gets going! Vice versa, we head out at night still buoyed by the early-autumn daytime warmth only to be shivering an hour or so later as the temps descend towards the promised overnight lows. Argh!
Layer, layer, layer is a non-essential oil tip: remember the temperatures will fluctuate and be prepared to add and remove those layers to keep yourself comfortable. Scarves are indispensable!
As the mercury drops, pull your warming, cheering and air-cleansing essential oils to the front of your collection. These will help you to feel upbeat when the weather’s cold and the sun’s gone AWOL, and will help keep the air in your home freshened up even when you’ve battened the hatches.
Lemon is cost-effective, awesome for cleansing and a ray of liquid sunshine for your spirits, too! Young Living Lemon Vitality essential oil can be added to food and drink and I love starting every morning with a cup of very warm water, a few drops of Young Living Lemon Vitality oil and a half a teaspoon of fresh farm honey. It feels so comforting, it helps me feel hydrated and fresh.
You can freshen your fingers and hands with a drop of lemon oil when you’re out and about. Young Living Thieves® Waterless Hand Purifier is also an absolute GEM! You can get it in a tiny size for your pocket or bag, and it’s also available in a large size for home and office. Please be sure not to touch your eyes if you have these on your fingers, because essential oils and eyes do not mix. While we’re on this subject, it’s vital to avoid touching your eyes and face in susceptible seasons so why not make it a habit to not touch your face at any time while you’re out and about with unwashed hands. It can only help!
Beautiful oils for diffusing as the weather cools are Young Living Purification™ (includes citronella, rosemary, lemongrass and tremendous for air freshening) and Christmas Spirit™. Be sure to look at ingredients in blends, because sometimes we can overlook them if the name makes us think just of one particular use. Christmas Spirit™ includes orange, cinnamon and spruce and it smells delicious, hearty and cosy!
Eucalyptus oils are also fabulous in cold weather and bring the smell of the Australian bush into your home.

CAN ESSENTIAL OILS HELP YOUR MOOD WHEN SEASONS CHANGE?
Do you feel a bit blue when changing from your favourite season to one of the others? You’re not alone!
Essential oils are quite profound when it comes to helping you to feel more relaxed and at peace with yourself and life. Personally, I’ve yet to find a ‘bleh’ feeling that can’t be released or turned around by the appropriate choice of essential oil. Here are a few beauties to consider:
- Young Living Present Time™ essential oil blend helps us to stay in the moment and not be so caught up with past or future.
- Young Living Acceptance™ helps us to go with the flow in the case of things that we simply cannot control.
- Young Living Joy™ is absolutely divine all year around, and if you’re feeling a bit ‘ordinary’, it will really add a sweet and contented note to your day.
Essential oils are potent, so as always, please follow directions on the bottle and the usual guidelines for safe use of authentic essential oils.
Please ensure you are choosing a brand with complete transparency from seed to seal, such as Young Living. You can learn in this short video why we only ever recommend and choose Young Living oils and love them so much!
