It’s a long time since I left out biscuits and milk for Santa.  Nowadays, I’d leave out essential oils.  I’m thinking all the milk and cookies aren’t doing his waistline any favours!

This line of late night thinking led me to wondering – which oils would I leave out for Santa?  And why stop at Santa?  All he has to do is shimmy down a chimney, have a nightcap for his troubles, and haul himself out again.  It’s his reindeer who have the lion’s share of the load if you ask me.

But we’ll start with the big guy in his red suit, who could be feeling his age by the time he negotiates whatever unorthodox form of entry he’s making into his one millionth home.

Young Living Deep Relief™ Roll-on is easy for him to apply without getting his hands oily and leaving unfortunate thumbprints all over the wrapping paper.  So unsightly!

This warming blend of essential oils is conveniently encased in a slim, easy-to-carry bottle with a roller ball.  To warm up and revive his leg and arm muscles, all he needs to do is hoick up his trouser legs and sleeves, roll on the oil and he’s done.  No fuss, no muss.

I’m tempted to dust off the massaging footbath I was given for Christmas 10 years ago and leave that out for him, too.  Warm water and a few drops of peppermint essential oil will soon have his tired feet nicely refreshed and ready for more hard yards.

To nourish Santa more healthfully than choc chip cookies, I’ll leave out Ginger Spiced Banana Bread he can share with his hard-working team on the roof.  Enhanced with ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon oils, these spices will warm the tips of their ears.  As long as they don’t stop Rudolph’s nose from glowing, it’s all good.

Oh, and I’d better put out a thermos of Young Living Slique Tea Cinnamon Oolong Cacao™ with its jade oolong tealeaves, rich in antioxidants.  That will perk Santa up nicely.

We assume Santa is jolly all year round, but everyone has their blue moments.  Who knows, perhaps he’s missing his missus, just like anyone working on Christmas Eve would do.  I’ll crank up the diffuser with Young Living Joy™ to be sure.

Now, for the reindeer.

Many animal parents and carers incorporate essential oils into their daily maintenance routines for all-round wellbeing and vitality.

It’s extremely important to go very gently on quantities, as clearly there’s a lot of difference in weight between a small dog, a human and a horse.

There are some great reference books out there to inform you about using oils with animals, so please seek them out and be sure to research well and take care with dilution and where best to apply them.

Oils are highly potent and just because they are natural, doesn’t mean they can be used on animals willy nilly.  But armed with knowledge and respect for their potency, it’s something I encourage you to take into consideration as a way of caring for your pets.

In keeping with that, I’ll just leave Santa a bottle of Peace & Calming™ with a note to sprinkle it on his shoulders, the edges of his sleeves and his cap.  When he’s patting Comet, Cupid and Co, his aromatic vibe will ease any performance fretting they might be having on their biggest night of the year.  Don’t worry, it won’t make them too mellow to do their job.  Oh, hang on.  Maybe …  if some gifts are slow in arriving, you’ll know why!

Wishing you a loving, peaceful and happy Christmas.  And enjoy the good oil daily.
