“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” Anatole France
(Companion oil: Young Living Build Your Dream™)
The festive season brings many things. Here in Australia, the long summer school holidays stretch ahead, seemingly endless, and many parents take vacation time for themselves as well. The traffic eases, cricket is the daily soundtrack of many households — and for fresh graduates from tertiary studies contemplating work life, their dreams are in the forefront of their minds.
Come to think of it, many people start reflecting on their dreams at this time of year. It’s inevitable with the shiny clean slate of a fresh 12 months ahead offering up the promise of reinvention, renewal and new adventures.
Revisiting goals is important, no doubt about it. And even more so, revisiting your dreams.
Sometimes we lock ourselves into a dream from years gone by without stopping to look at where we’ve come in life, the person we’ve grown into since then and whether all of those dreams really do still beckon to us with passion and fuel our inspiration.
How about you take a moment right now to close your eyes and bring your dreams to mind.
Focus on the first one that pops into your head. I mean, really focus on it. What does it look like? Climb inside it, look around. Take a walk. How does it feel? Are you busting with excitement? Are you giving the universe high fives and doing a happy dance? Who’s there with you? What are you wearing?
Inhale slowly. Are the colours light and bright? How does it smell? What scents are in the air? Fresh, vital and vibrant, clean? Or are dust motes drifting in the air with tired, colourless mustiness?
Are you still in love with your dream?
If not, apply some Young Living Acceptance™ and Release™ and allow it to be ok to let it go. Life is wondrous and filled with more possibilities than we can ever imagine. So if your heart truly isn’t in that particular dream any longer, set yourself free from it.
But if stepping into your dream still fills you with wonder and delight — no matter how long you’ve held it in your heart and mind — let’s look for something to help you build it. An aromatic, pleasurable way to do it.
Firstly, take a step back into that dream you want to build. Live it, breathe it, bring it to life in your imagination. Do this every day for a few minutes and feel excited when you do. Pretend it’s already happening. Imagine how you’ll feel inside when your dream is a reality, then go ahead and feel those feelings. Your feelings are your cheerleaders and we need them waving their pompoms!
Then step towards your dream in some small way. Even if you don’t really know how or what to do to get there, climb back in there and don’t come out until you’ve found one small thing you know you can do right now that might eventually help your dream come to life. Just one. Small. Thing.
Got it?
Great!
Do that thing. Simple as that. Make a start. There’s a quote I love by tennis great Arthur Ashe and it goes like this:
“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” Arthur Ashe
Now, where’s that aromatic, pleasurable way I promised for your dream building? It’s an essential oil blend aptly named Build Your Dream™.
This blend was created by Young Living founder Gary Young in honour of Young Living’s 20th anniversary this year, marking two decades of helping others transform themselves in all kinds of positive ways — physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. And abundantly. (More on that here if you’d like to know how.)
Build Your Dream™ smells beautiful, so it’s no hardship using it. (There I go again with the easy solutions.) It includes the essential oils of Sacred Frankincense (one of the rarest and most sought after aromatics known), sandalwood (known for helping release negative programming) and Idaho Blue Spruce (considered sacred by North-western Native Americans and exclusive to Young Living).
Diffuse for half an hour at a time or dilute with pure carrier oil like Young Living V-6 Enhanced Vegetable Complex™, sweet almond or coconut oil and apply topically. As always, be sure to follow the label and guidelines for safe use.
This will also connect you up with The Good Oil Team for our personal support and coaching. We'd love to help you on your journey to vibrant well-being the natural way!
