Apply authentic lavender essential oil or Young Living Peace & Calming™ to yourself before a vet visit to calm you and your pet.
Smooth a couple of drops into your wrists, neck and shoulders. When you are patting your pet and comforting them with hugs before you put them into the car, they will inhale the oils from your skin and clothes and this will help calm and soothe them.
And guess what? As these oils will calm and soothe your mood, too, you’ll feel better and this will transfer to them. Our animals pick up on our emotional state, so the more cool and collected you are, the better.
Place a drop of lavender on the bedding or paper in their carrier or cage, too. It all helps.
But it’s absolutely imperative to use authentic lavandula angustifolia essential oil.
Lavender is one of the most adulterated oils in the marketplace and animals are very sensitive, so you don’t want to risk a dodgy oil when it comes to their health any more than you want to risk it with your own. You can’t trust the word ‘pure’ on the label. At this point in time, labelling laws and regulation don’t cut the mustard well enough, as wrong as that may be. Quality varies immensely, so please ensure you are choosing a brand with complete transparency from seed to seal, such as Young Living. Discover why we love them so much in this short video.
Essential oils are potent, so please follow directions on the bottle and the usual guidelines for safe use of authentic essential oils.
