Add authentic myrrh essential oil to vitamin E cream to help it soothe a nose chapped by tissues.

It seems such an innocuous thing, but having a red-raw nose from constant blowing can feel pretty miserable.

An ounce of prevention really helps.  Keeping the skin under your schnoz well moisturised as soon as you get a runny nose or head cold can minimise chapping and chafing.

It’s also very helpful to blot at your nose rather than rubbing it, and use the softest tissues you can find.  But as we aren’t fans of synthetics here at The Good Oil Daily (this video helps show why), we recommend sticking with ‘old-school’ standard tissues rather than the green-washed scented and moisturised ones.

Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) is mentioned in the Ebers Papyrus, an ancient Egyptian list of medicinal recipes dating back to the 16th century BC. You can discover more about it here.

Bonus tip : Myrrh is steam distilled from gum/resin and sometimes, the oil residue on the inside of the lid and the dripolator can harden a touch and make the lid pesky to get off. If this happens to you, hold the lidded end in very warm water for a few seconds and this usually eases it enough to twist the lid open.

Quality varies immensely, so please ensure you are choosing a brand with complete transparency from seed to seal. Young Living is that brand. Discover why we love them so much in these short videos here and here.

Essential oils are potent, so please follow directions on the bottle and the usual guidelines for safe use. Thank you!
