But first, we need to look at what makes the range so effective: its proprietary blend of essential oils.  They say imitation is the highest form of flattery.  Well, in that case Thieves® should feel very flattered.  But even if efforts are made to copy the blend, it can never be replicated due to the exacting standards of essential oils that Young Living uses.  Nor can its benefits and effects be replicated.  It smells and works wonderfully!

Thieves® is a very quirky and out-of-left-field name for a cleaning product.  But it comes from the name of the Young Living essential oil blend that gives the products their effective cleaning abilities.

Legend has it that French thieves in the 1400s used a combination of aromatic botanicals while they robbed the dead and dying.  From this grim cloud came the silver lining of the special blend they relied on when going about their grisly work.  Inspired by this legend, renowned essential oil expert D Gary Young and Young Living created the unique Thieves® essential oil blend of spicy clove and cinnamon, fresh lemon and Eucalyptus Radiata and herbaceous rosemary.

THIEVES® DISH SOAP

The fresh citrus scent of this sudsy beauty comes to you completely free from synthetic fragrances thanks to the essential oils of Jade Lemon and bergamot (a member of the citrus family).  It’s kind and gentle on your hands and its plant-based formula is free of nasties like sulfates, dyes, formaldehyde, phosphates and the aforementioned synthetic perfumes.   Before switching to Thieves® Dish Soap, I was using one sold as organic but on closer inspection of the label, it included ‘fragrance’ and the overpowering scent just about bowled me over!  But with Thieves® Dish Soap, I can breathe easy and enjoy the washing-up experience.

THIEVES® LAUNDRY SOAP

With extra lemon for a lemon-fresh finish, this plant-based liquid laundry soap is gentle but very effective, leaving zero chemical or synthetic residue after its potent essential oils and natural enzymes have worked their magic.   Between you and me, I was dubious when I tried it because I’m pretty hard on clothes thanks to all my gardening and DIY work, and I doubted it would budge all the marks.  But my laundry smelled fresh as a daisy and looked bright as a button to boot!  Do try it: I’m sure you’ll love it.

Thieves® Laundry Soap is safe for both top loaders and front loaders, and you’ll get up to 64 loads of laundry (depending on load size, goes without saying) from each 947mL bottle, so it’s great planet-positive value for your money.

THIEVES® SPRAY

This pocket dynamo is fantastic for popping into your purse, backpack or bag (you’ll feel much more comfie using public restrooms after spraying Thieves® Spray on the door handles and toilet seats!) And it’s just as essential around the home.

I use it for freshening up all kinds of surfaces, including those ones we use all the time and tend to forget like door knobs and light switches.  If you still have a landline phone, spray on a tissue and wipe over the receiver and buttons for peace of mind there, too.  I also give my shoes a regular spray inside to ward off smells and if I’ve been out and about anywhere that feels a bit suss, I’ll spray the bottoms of my shoes before I go inside so I don’t trudge excessive germs through my home.   (Ok, some will say that’s taking it too far but I’ll bet lots of you will be heading off to put a bottle of Thieves® Spray by your door right now!)
