“One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.” Friedrich Nietzsche
(Companion oil: Young Living Gathering™)
We tend to think of chaos as an arch villain threatening our wellbeing, our safety and our sanity.
Chaos could do with a good PR agent.
Today’s quote and these other beauties put forth some great cases for the constructive nature of chaos. Actually, chaos, it seems, it not just useful: it’s essential.
- “Chaos was the law of nature; Order was the dream of man.” Henry Adams
- “Invention, it must be humbly admitted, does not consist in creating out of void, but out of chaos.” Mary Shelley
- “In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order.” Carl Jung
Perhaps life would be a bit boring without some healthy chaos. It’s all about balance, after all. Without darkness, we would not appreciate the light. Without some stress, we might lack the drive to complete things or make changes for the better. Left unchecked, it’s debilitating and dangerous, (more on that here) but if harnessed and channelled in a healthy way, a little stress can be quite ok.
And so it can be with chaos. It can shake us out of a sense of complacency and awaken us to new experiences and feelings.
It can stimulate our creativity as we instinctively search for solutions to restore the sense of order we feel more comfortable with.
Some people seem to thrive on chaos. You might know one of them. Their chaos follows them akin to Pig-Pen in Peanuts travelling around in his dust cloud. They have a knack for creating drama where none existed because it gives them an adrenalin rush or because it gets attention. That’s the not-so-flash side of chaos, and it can throw us off our centre when we’re around it.
If you feel bombarded by chaotic energy and unable to channel it, or you’re finding it hard to keep your sense of focus on track, taking a breather and walking barefoot in a place where it’s safe to do so can be incredibly calming and grounding. Half an hour is great if you can manage it, but five minutes can help noticeably.
And the right blend of authentic essential oils provides a beautifully fragrant way to recreate that kind of sensation while sitting at your desk or musical instrument or parked in your car waiting for a meeting. Young Living created such a blend named Gathering™. It offers another way to gather your thoughts by opening a bottle and inhaling.
To order Young Living Gathering™, please contact me and I’ll give you a hand.
Gathering™ includes the essential oils of:
- lavender (relaxing and soothing)
- galbanum, frankincense and sandalwood (these create a synergy when combined that is said to increase frequency)
- ylang ylang (balancing for yin and yang)
It makes a lovely 100% natural perfume or men’s fragrance, too. Gathering™ is completely free of the synthetics included in virtually all the fragrance products in the marketplace. (Not sure why synthetics aren’t so great? This video helps explain.)
Apply a little behind your ears or on your wrists, and please follow the labels and usual guidelines for safe use of essential oils. Seal it in with a barefoot bowls match and you’ll feel unstoppable.
Have a great weekend, and enjoy the good oil daily.
This will also connect you up with The Good Oil Team for our personal support and coaching. We'd love to help you on your journey to vibrant well-being the natural way!
