A friend recommended a wonderful book to me on happiness and transformation called ‘Your Second Life Begins When You Realize You Only Have One’ by Raphaëlle Giordano (translated from the original French best-seller ‘Ta deuxième vie commence quand tu comprends que tu n’en a qu’une’).
Indeed, it’s an uplifting book about living life fully. The promo on the front cover says, “The bestselling French novel that made 2 million readers happier!” And already from the few chapters I’ve read, I can see why it captivates and endears itself so easily, and why they add an exclamation mark at the end of their positive call to action to inspire your purchase of the book!
As the cover notes say, Camille has everything she needs to be happy, but nonetheless feels like happiness has slipped through her fingers. When she meets Claude, a ‘routinologist’, he offers his unique guidance to help her find the path to joy and fulfilment, and on it goes from there.
I won’t spoil it for you by disclosing much more, but it’s already had me thinking about great essential oil companions for such a journey as Camille’s.
Without letting the cat out of the bag, early in their path together, Claude the ‘routinologist’ presents her with a list of effects in the Vicious Circle that starts with a negative thought and ends with failure to achieve goals. This is contrasted with the Virtuous Circle that starts with a positive thought or ‘act as if (you already have what you want/envisage)’ and ends with successfully achieving goals.
In a later meeting, he describes a study on the effects of negative talk and discouragement versus positive talk and encouragement on two identical bowls of planted seeds. You can imagine the results.
Well, the power of positive thinking is nothing new, but like anything, it’s how it’s presented to us and where we are in our lives when we hear information as to whether we’re interested or receptive. If you’re drawn to reading this book, it could be the perfect time for you to lap it up.
It’s also vital to not just think positively but to also take action that’s aligned with your positive thinking – and lacking the vision and tenacity to do this is all too often where we can blow it. We might take no action or the wrong kinds of action and then mentally stamp BIG FAT FAIL! all over the act of positive thinking.
Go pick up the book and enjoy reading how Camille puts Claude’s gentle-but-firm programme into effect in her life. Young Living Release™
Letting go of things that don’t serve us is part of the deal when you’re embarking on personal growth and positive thinking. But it’s easier said than done. We grow very attached to our negative thought patterns and actions. We might know full well that we need to let go of things in our lives that aren’t aligned with how and where we want to grow, but there can be a strange comfort in holding onto that which we know. To help let go of frustration and negative feelings and move forwards freely, diffuse Young Living Release™ and layer it over Young Living Valor® on the wrists, outer edges of the ears, even over areas of the body where you feel tight or constricted (please follow the usual guidelines for safe use). Release™ counts ylang ylang, jasmine and rose among its treasured ingredients and smells lovely as a signature fragrance, too.
Young Living Transformation™
Claude’s prescription against Camille’s life of routine involves a good dosage of transformation. And we as humans have a tremendous capacity to resist that which is ultimately good for us. This is where beautiful top quality essential oils like the ones offered by Young Living can help us immensely. Transformation™ is an invigorating blend that includes lemon, peppermint and frankincense to help you embrace change, set goals and believe in yourself. Dilute before applying to the wrists and behind your ears, and diffuse while you’re meditating on the life of your dreams.
Bonus tip: Young Living Gratitude™ will help you to be thankful and appreciate everything you have already in your life, for there is always, always something to hold onto that makes every down time worth living.
