“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” Albert Einstein
(Companion oil: Young Living Awaken™)
You might have heard it said that the word ‘educate’ comes from the Latin ‘educere’, meaning “bring out, lead forth.” And with one thing leading to another, the notion has been translated loosely to education being a process of drawing out the powers of the mind.
How exciting to think of teaching as leading horses to water and inspiring them to drink, rather than drizzling buckets of information over their heads and hoping some of it soaks in.
Etymologists dampen this down somewhat when it comes to children, however, with the Century Dictionary stating that educere of a child, is “usually with reference to bodily nurture or support, while educare [“bring up, rear, educate”] refers more frequently to the mind.”
The conclusion is, “There is no authority for the common statement that the primary sense of education is to ‘draw out or unfold the powers of the mind.’”
All righty, then. Let us seek refuge in the words of Einstein ! His quote demonstrates a wonderful philosophy on teaching. If you’re an educator and this idea puts a spring in your step, essential oils can be a way of helping you.
But how do you choose which oils to use?
Young Living takes out all the guesswork with its own blend called Awaken™. As the name helpfully suggests, it was formulated to help spark and coax out inner awareness that fortifies the desire to reach one’s highest potential.
To order Young Living Awaken™, please contact me and I’ll give you a hand.
Before classes, diffuse Awaken™ in a cold-air diffuser for 10 minutes. This turns it into a micro-fine mist that can stay suspended in the air for several hours. Not only does it make the classroom smell fresh, but it can help put Einstein’s Theory of Awaken-ivity into practice. (Don’t quote that theory in an exam, please.)
You’ll find some tips on Why and How to diffuse here. Or at a pinch, you can add 45 drops to 1 cup of purified water in a spray bottle, shake it well then spritz high into the air around the room.
Awaken™ is composed of five Young Living blends: Joy™, Forgiveness™, Present Time™, Dream Catcher™ and Harmony™. It has a cast of many single essential oils, and the sum of its parts smells rather lovely.
It also makes a beautiful personal fragrance, 100% natural in the genuine sense of the word. Apply a little behind your ears and be ready for your own moments of awakening to arise. (This one is best used on location in areas that won’t be exposed to sunlight within 24 hours or so as there’s a small chance of photosensitivity. As always, follow the usual guidelines for safe use.)
This will also connect you up with The Good Oil Team for our personal support and coaching. We'd love to help you on your journey to vibrant well-being the natural way!
