People speak of valor as something grand and uncommon.
Courage under fire. Running into a burning building. Following someone into unknown waters in hopes of saving them.
All are amazing things. Grand and uncommon.
But what I love about today’s quote is the humble nature of its use.
“Valor is stability … of courage and the soul.”
Valor is turning up you’d rather be doing something else but someone is relying on you to be there for them.
Valor is being someone your loved ones can count on to have the heart to be honest when they need it even if it’s easier or more comfortable for yourself to be otherwise.
Valor is valuing the little promises you make as much as the big ones.
With its ability to increase trust, faith and connections with each other, common valor can be equally profound as its more dramatic counterpart. I venture to say even more so.
