“Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.” Pablo Picasso

(Companion oil: Young Living Inspiration™)

Uh-oh.  Did I just catch you telling yourself this notion applies to those creative types — and that’s not you?

It’s natural for the word ‘inspiration’ to be associated with creativity.

But it’s important to look at our definitions of ‘creativity’ and be very open to the endless possibilities of how creativity is made visible.

Whether or not you’re artistic, you are creative. Every time you solve a problem — hello, creativity !

You know those household tips most of us love so much? Creativity at work.

So our companion oil for today is not something reserved for those with obviously creative professions or hobbies.

You’re a home handyman and you’ve been putting off a pesky or problematic job?

Put a drop of Inspiration™ on the top of your head before you hit the workshop and be open to new ways of tackling your project.  (And if you accidentally hammer something you shouldn’t?  Here are a few DIY tips that can help!)

You love knitting but tend to stick with patterns, much as you’ve mastered the basics very well and you’re feeling a bit bored?

Put a couple of drops of Inspiration™ into your palms, gently rub them together, cup over your nose and inhale — then pick up a pattern you know and see if some variations on the theme start coming to you.

The essential oils in this beautiful Young Living blend were traditionally used by the Native Americans to enhance spirituality, prayer and inner awareness, and they inspire a calm space in your mind to bring you closer to your higher intuition.

But as Picasso so wisely advised — and the artists, musicians, writers, designers and other formally-known-as-‘creatives’ of the world know from experience and sometimes learning the hard way — inspiration has to find you working.

Dream your dreams (and there’s a wonderful oil for that, too) but whatever you do, make those baby steps. Sit down at your desk or your easel or your kitchen table, put some Inspiration™ into your diffuser, start doodling or sketching or writing whatever thoughts randomly flit into your head and when inspiration strikes, you’ll be ready for it.

Enjoy the good oil daily.
