When you head down to your favourite natural health store, don’t you love getting that monthly rebate off your purchases? You know, the one they give you when they add up sales made thanks to all the people you’ve sent there, and give a percentage back to you to help you pay for the products you want each month?
Or maybe your friends also have friends they’ve sent there because they love their helpful manner and awesome quality of products so much. And with the commission you receive from what they also spend on their regular orders, your rebate might be outpacing what you’re spending on all the product you love. Awesome!
Then it starts adding up to a little long weekend away occasionally, or a term’s worth of ballet or piano lessons, or that pair of shoes you’ve been hankering for but tell yourself, “I shouldn’t.”
What’s that? Your health store doesn’t give you this?
Nor does mine. (Not that I need much there as you’ll see in a moment.) But I tell you who does: Young Living™. Before you go wondering if that’s the reason I love their products so much, it’s not. It’s a fantastic added bonus, but I wouldn’t recommend anything to anyone just for the sake of making a dollar from what they choose to buy from that source. (I suspect you wouldn’t, either.)
You can learn easily and quickly why I love their products so much with these short videos here and here.
But something I’ve talked very little about so far is the financial benefits you can tap into when you become a wholesale member of Young Living. There’s an overview on our Products page but just the other day, I happened upon someone who has been loving the products for some time now, but was very surprised when I asked if they were getting enough commission to use their favourite products for free. So it reminded me that this important point can be easily overlooked. Time for a blog post dedicated entirely to the matter! It’s long, but I wanted to chat with you as if we were person to person, rather than throw a bunch of bullet points at you.
First things first. Anyone can order from Young Living™, you just need to join as a member to do so. If you join as a retail member, you’re paying retail price. You can order a tube of toothpaste or bottle of lavender essential oil if that’s all you would like.
When you click any of the joining and ordering links here throughout The Good Oil Daily, the online ordering page will come up and after completion, you are given your own member number and directly connected with Young Living™ for ordering whenever you like.
You’ll see that an enroller number is required and that’s the person who introduced Young Living products to you. In this case, joining via our site will automatically put you into our care with The Good Oil Team. And as such, you can get in touch with us for help with product usage questions and so on.
On the other hand, if you love saving money (and maybe even making money), you can. Just select the wholesale option on the online joining page and when you start adding items to your cart (you just need to complete the basics of joining info first), they will be discounted to wholesale price.
I see you scratching your head. “So why in the heck would I choose retail over wholesale?”
Great question! Some people feel more comfortable with a retail relationship, and that’s fair enough. Retail sales are important for any business, so there’s nothing wrong with that.
But maybe you’re thinking you don’t want to meet any minimum order spends or monthly order requirements. Then here’s some great news: to buy as a wholesale member, you don’t have to. You can still just order if and when you need something. Or want something. (It’s hard to choose as there’s everything from the most effective essential oils imaginable to supplements to safe cleaning products to non-toxic personal care.)
It could be that you don’t want to order a starter kit, and yes, a starter kit is a requirement of becoming a wholesale member. Why? Because it also gives you access to building an independent business through the turnover of Young Living products if you wish to — so it’s a way of ensuring you have some great information and samples in order to get started. There are quite a number of starter kit options but they vary depending on your country so we won’t try listing any here. When you click Join and select your country, you can scroll down the page and take a look.
Actually, why don’t you go and do that right now? You can take a good look at what’s involved without entering any information, though I do recommend selecting your country so you can see what’s relevant to you in particular.
This will also connect you up with The Good Oil Team for our personal support and coaching. We'd love to help you on your journey to vibrant well-being the natural way!
Any questions? Please get in touch via our Contact page.
“But where do I order products I’ve seen here? I don’t see that option on the page.”
To be sure Young Living sets you up properly with the pricing and warehouse that’s correct for your location, you need to complete the joining section first. Once you’ve got past that, you’ll be able to browse and add products to your cart. You can browse by categories or if you know the name of what you’re after, there’s a Search box and that’s often quickest and easiest. If it’s not showing up what you seek, it could be a quirky spelling thing, so head to the appropriate category to help locate it.
Entirely optional: free products and savings on shipping
If you decide to order monthly, enrolling in the Essential Rewards programme gives you discounted shipping rates plus clocks up points from your purchases for you to redeem for most products in the range. The longer you continue your monthly ordering, the higher the order value percentage you’ll clock up in reward points. You can order whatever you like each month as long as it adds to the minimum points value needed. Conditions do apply and again, for the sake of keeping information current, we won’t put specifics here but click Contact if you’d like to know more.
Also entirely optional: income stream
As a wholesale member, anyone who joins Young Living by using your member number as their enroller number will become part of your team. (Just as you would become a member of The Good Oil Team by joining via us.) When you start using the products and experiencing results for yourself, it’s hard to stop yourself from telling people about it because it can be very exciting stuff ! People often want to know more even if you weren’t planning on telling them more simply because they see possibilities for themselves. You’re simply helping people by sharing what you’ve learned and helping them see those possibilities. You might like to think of yourself as ‘The Accidental Salesperson’. (I know plenty of people with a handy little income from their Young Living business who think of themselves that way!)
Wait up, though. “Am I paid for referring someone?” No. Not a cent.
“Can I earn commissions and bonuses on the purchases they make, similar to earning a commission as a salesperson but by being an Accidental Salesperson?” Now you’re on the right track. Yes, you can. Some modest goals are set each calendar month in order to qualify to earn those commissions that month, but they aren’t daunting. Please click Contact and we’re happy to give you more info on how all that works.
Young Living also has a general overview here which could vary slightly from country to country but it outlines the key points.
I’m sharing all these options with you because I know how grateful I am to Young Living, their products, and the many positive, everyday people involved, for the countless benefits all of these things bring to my life. So it feels like a disservice if I don’t let you know what you could be accessing and enjoying, too. If another Young Living member has been talking with you and helping you, they will give you their details for joining. Otherwise, we’d love to welcome you to our team for guidance and personal business coaching to the level you want it.
Most importantly, we want you to use and love the products. Until you have, you genuinely don’t know what you’re missing out on. It sounds corny but that’s how I feel. (Maybe you will, too!)
