“Always say ‘yes’ to the present moment… Surrender to what is. Say ‘yes’ to life – and see how life starts suddenly to start working for you rather than against you.” Eckhart Tolle
(Companion oil: Young Living Surrender™)
When I started looking for quotes for today’s post, I realised how often the word ‘surrender’ is taken as a negative thing.
On reading some self-help books on the power of positive thinking, one could easily be forgiven for thinking surrender is a sign of weakness. And that at all costs, we should doggedly continue no matter what the adversity and do a ‘Winston Churchill’ :
“We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.”
And for sure, there are some circumstances under which it would serve a person well to follow that call. If your life depends upon it, for example. Never, ever, ever give up.
There’s something very elegant about knowing when to stand your ground on something and when to surrender to a higher purpose / power/ source of creation. Developing and tuning in to that sense so you can trust yourself to know the difference — therein lies one of life’s big learnings.
Bumps in the road are one thing. If you’re passionate about something, don’t let it go at the first sign of a challenge. If we all did that, few things of value would exist in the world.
But if you start to suspect your determination is coming instead from being wilful and stubborn, or from a place of maintaining control regardless of the costs? It might be a good time to take a breather and get some space and perspective.
And the ideal essential oil blend to support you in that is Young Living Surrender™, which you can diffuse, inhale from the bottle, or apply diluted with carrier oil to the edges of your ears, solar plexus and the back of your neck.

If you follow the footy, you’re probably hoping your team doesn’t get their hands on a bottle before their match. That might not be the kind of surrender you’re hoping for.
